Scaffold Builder/Insulator The scaffold Builder / Insulator will be working with a team of Austin employees to provide scaffolding building and Insulation work for the refinery client.
The work will be conducted as instructed through a work order system.
The position will also assist the work team in other duties within the refinery.
This will include but not be limited to, general mechanical craft work, such as assisting in opening up and blinding flanges, and laying pipe, and include general safety duties, confined space hole watch, and fresh air bottle watch.
Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Work at heights with no fear.
Has basic hand tools to bring to the site.
Determines the type of scaffold needed.
Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold as instructed by the scaffold builder.
Hoists scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structures.
Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
Adheres to all OSHA, site-specific, and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
Reads blueprints and selects required insulation material.
Work at heights with no fear.
Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
Determine the amounts and select required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form), such as fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, and urethane based on the material's ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
Using tape or other measuring device, measure and cut insulation material to a specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using a handsaw, knife, or scissors.
Fit, wrap, or attach required insulation material around or to the structure, following blueprint specifications.
Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape to secure insulation to the structure - according to the type of insulation used and structure covered, using a staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required for this Position: Education – no minimum education requirements.
Certification / License: NCCER.
Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
