The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for the successful completion of hydro-excavation processes.
The incumbent operates Hydrovac and other machines used in construction to excavate, load, dig or break rocks or debris, dirt, or other materials.
The Hydrovac Operator will operate the onboard hydro-vacuum system around sensitive underground utilities.
The Hydrovac Operator will clean and vacuum, mobilize equipment, attend training sessions, complete appropriate paperwork, perform truck maintenance and attend safety meetings, etc.
The Hydrovac Operator acts as a crew lead, responsible for the completion of projects in a safe and timely manner.
Essential Job Functions:
· Ability to speak, understand, read and write the English language.
· Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
· Ability to work out of doors in all weather conditions.
· Must be able to climb ladders and work from elevated locations.
· Must be able to work extended hours and variable days and shifts.
· Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
· Must be able to hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
Qualifications:
· Must possess a valid Class A CDL.
· Must have a clean MVR and be acceptable to company insurance carriers.
· Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and background checks.
· Minimum of one (1) year of related experience (preferred).
· Mechanical ability and knowledge of equipment, heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair (preferred).
