Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is a part of New Shepard, a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space.
Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.
As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will be part of integrating the development, design, test, build, and operation of various spaceflight systems for New Shepard.
You will ensure that we achieve our goals on time and within budget.
This role will also lead efforts to increase our efficiency for the next generation of New Shepard! We will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedication and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities: Engage in the entire life cycle of space system development.
This includes conceptual design, detailed design and analysis, qualification testing, integration, and mission support.
Represent the program in the development of internal tool and process capability for a more digitally coordinated work environment, to enable more rapid development and operation Use your experience and knowledge of the system to support special projects including anomaly investigations, major program events, and planning objectives Collaborate with many internal customers to define dependencies and schedule needs associated with delivering space systems Lead team-based identification, decomposition, and estimation of work scope for full lifecycle hardware and software development Lead project schedule, resources, and cost – present status of effort, including risks, variances and recovery plans to program management Resource load, analyze, and optimize project schedule to meet required plans Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.
S.
degree in an engineering field (mechanical or aerospace engineering preferred) Demonstrated technical expertise in spacecraft, launch vehicle, or high-performance aircraft or automotive development Experience and ability to work independently on rapid development programs 5+ years of proven experience in project management for aerospace or equivalent-type systems including Leadership of at least one multi-person project managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, cost, and communications.
Proficiency with standard scheduling software such as Primavera (P6), Open Plan, or MS Project Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical work environments Preferred Qualifications: Master of Business Administration or Master of Science in Engineering Project Management Professional certificate, or similar credential Direct experience in multiple project lifecycle phases including definition, design, manufacturing, and operations Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
