POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the management of wellness services for students and for providing programs that promote wellness in accordance with government and management directives.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Registered Nurse.
Minimum of an Associate's Degree in nursing.
Active, unrestricted license to practice in state where center is located DIRECT REPORTS: RN/Co-Disability Coordinator, LPN, Wellness Clerk, TEAP Specialist, Dental Assistant JOB DUTIES: • Plan, coordinate, and manage the administrative and health services activities of the department.
• Manage and conduct coordinated health care for students, other health related programs, and serve as a member of the mental health team.
• Coordinate all phases of direct medical, dental and psychiatric services for outpatients, inpatients, and off-center patients.
• Screen all medical and dental patients for center physician, dentist, vocational rehabilitation, and follow-up medical care.
• Correspond with parents/guardians, Enrollment Specialists, and welfare agencies as applicable.
• Manage record keeping and reports on student injuries, diseases and disabilities.
• Coordinate services with outside agencies and hospitals.
• Review and approve payment to all outside vendors, subcontracted staff, and services, ensuring expenditures are within contractual and budgetary limitations.
• Coordinate third party payments for health-related services.
Maximize health insurance coverage opportunities and requirements and properly assess coverage by student, student's family, state/federal coverage, Center's or personal responsibility.
• Coordinate with other center staff concerning health services and promotion of wellness.
• Coordinate all activities related to receipt of applicant folders requiring review, accommodation requests, provision of accommodations, services, and follow-up, and ensure that required documentation is up to date.
• Provide direction and technical services İn the operation of weight control, pregnancy, mental health, smoking cessation, and other health and wellness related programs.
• Develop community linkages in health services areas.
• Ensure assigned program areas and systems meet or exceed current DOL/Company performance standards.
• Provide training for direct report(s), provide ongoing positive and constructive feedback for professional development and engagement, follow progressive discipline process for accountability as necessary, and complete timely performance evaluations as scheduled.
• Provide cross-training to direct report(s) to provide adequate back-up coverage.
• Recommend and implement department and personnel changes as approved by the Center Director and coordinated with Human Resources prior to implementation.
• Exchange ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contribute meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge.
• Provide input in development of departmental budget.
• Monitor and control expenditures.
• Review and recommend changes to departmental budget authorizations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures for department and provide input for policies and procedures for co-dependent areas.
• Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students.
• Ensure all reports and required plans are submitted in a timely, accurate manner.
• Foster a smoothly functioning, efficient department through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.
• Operate in accordance with requirements set in the contract, PRH, guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and corporate policies.
• Complete all required training according to Job Corps and Company training schedule.
• Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals.
• Contribute to cultivation of positive Center culture which is free of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
