Position is accountable for supporting efforts to prevent incidents with heavy focus on eliminating significant incidents and fatalities through providing guidance on implementation and execution of processes and procedures that comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulatory requirements and Chevron expectations.
Candidate must be able to form strong and collaborative relationships with both Chevron and contractor supervision and field personnel.
Responsibilities:
Identifying system level HSE gaps and implementing effective improvement plans to close.
Provide guidance to field personnel, ensuring necessary resources are available and used to properly support the HSE program.
Must be able to support environmental execution on an as needed basis.
Serve as a leader to the field by actively identifying and championing fixing items out of compliance.
Advocate SOP's and HSE expectations to field personnel, identifying lack of relevance to continuing operations and communicating up the chain to initiate change.
Experience working in high H2S environments
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or 5-10 years of oil/gas and construction HSE experience
Must be able to work 40+ hours per week.
Effective with communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Thorough understanding of relevant regulatory agency requirements.
Consultative approach to HSE compliance, with an operations focus.
Proficiency with technology and MS Office Products
A valid U.
S.
driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
Must pass and maintain a client required random drug tests.
Must pass a background investigation.
