Position Summary:
The Senior I&E Technician is responsible for the safe and careful installation of company products at client sites.
Possess a blend of technical and electrical expertise to ensure that all installs are completed to the manufacturers and clients’ specifications.
Performs duties with oversight from supervisor or with some assistance.
Must be able to meet deadlines, be hard working, and be adaptable to different working environments, including extreme weather environments.
Job Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution required.
Valid driver’s license with good MVR required.
Active Journeyman Electrician’s required or pending exam.
Experience with general hand tools and power tools.
Must be able to perform extremely physical labor such as digging lifting and pulling for extended periods of time.
Be able to identify different types, gauges, and color of cables and wires.
Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge of components.
Some experience in the electrical industry is preferred.
Experience with running and troubleshooting heat trace is a plus.
Basic electrical theory knowledge required such as ohms law is a plus.
Experience working in pure industrial facilities, power plants, manufacturing operations, or similar sites preferred.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and otherwise interface with smart devices utilizing HART or equivalent communicators.
Understand installation, calibration and troubleshooting processes for pressure, flow and temperature transmitters and switches.
Installation, troubleshooting and calibration of I/Ps and valve positioners.
Install and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical control circuits and devices (control relays, versa and ASCO valves).
Install, troubleshoot, program and interface with wireless devices and wireless instrumentation.
Install, troubleshoot, program and otherwise interface with communication devices and the associated as well as understand communication protocols such as RS 485, RS 232, Modbus, TCIP, etc.
Install, troubleshoot and calibrate gas detectors and smoke/fire detection systems and devices.
Install and select appropriate tubing for sensing lines, pneumatic circuits, and chemical supply lines.
Read P&IDs and electrical drawings and prints.
Install and troubleshoot relays.
Install and troubleshoot electrical circuits up to 480VAC.
This includes basic conduit bending and utilization of proper fittings to maintain required classifications.
Basic understanding of PLCs and HMI (ability to troubleshoot at the least).
Perform other duties as assigned.
