Role Overview:
A Pipe yard Operator is capable of the physical demands of a fast-paced environment while achieving results and maintaining safe operations.
Transfers tubular products to storage locations and inspection facilities using heavy machinery and other loading/unloading methods.
Responsible for the storage, retrieval, processing, and accuracy of product.
Responsible for successful adherence to the productivity program of the Pipe Yard.
Responsibilities:
Receive pipe from delivery drivers and carefully place within our yard in an appropriate and safe lay down area
Report any overage, shortage and damages from that deliveries to the appropriate agents or supervisors
Operate various capacity forklifts not to exceed 45,000 lbs in a safe and competent manner
Properly use the scanners and warehouse management system to input data and update the system as to the status of the received inventory
Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through process development and management.
Daily maintenance of pipe yard
Keep control over the material(s) for different jobs (separates & stages)
Coordinates and monitors operations within department to ensure performance production rates are consistent with business plan, reducing irregularities and misdirects.
Other duties as needed
Requirements:
Two (2) plus years Warehouse experience.
Extensive verifiable forklift operating experience, preferably in a pipe yard, or operating 10,000+ lbs forklifts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Demonstrated analytical ability to gather and interpret information, and develop, recommend and implement solutions.
Basic computer skills
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
