Job Title: Surface Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Surface Maintenance Supervisor
Location: New Mexico – East Plant
OVERVIEW
A Surface Maintenance Technician troubleshoots cause of failure, recommends repairs, and performs general maintenance of plant equipment, systems and surrounding building machinery.
This position requires the ability to work safely, whether independently or within a team, a wide mechanical knowledge, and flexibility for on-call schedules.
JOB DUTIES
Troubleshoot, repair, replace and/or rebuild malfunctioning equipment
Execute routine preventative maintenance checklist items, including, but not limited to: lubrication and greasing of equipment, replacing screens and pumps, oil levels, etc.
Maintain various equipment such above-ground machinery, plumbing, pumps, conveyors, elevators, structures,
Conduct pre-shift inspections to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Assist with maintenance and operation of mobile and heavy equipment, including, but not limited to: crane, forklift, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
Valid Driver’s License
Minimum two (2) years of industrial maintenance experience
Crane operation experience preferred, but not required
Must be able to provide own metric tools
Must be available to work a call-out schedule for a 24/7 operation

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
4, 10-hour shifts, day shift.
As part of a 24/7 maintenance support team, employees will be on a rotating on-call schedule.
Schedule subject to change.
Outdoors, in a non-temperature controlled environment, and subject to weather conditions
Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders, work at heights, perceive color differences
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity
A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity.
Placement into the position will not be made until the results are received and cleared by Intrepid.
