Support physicians and staff as the first line of contact by scheduling patients, answering phone calls, and arranging in house referrals.
Obtains and verifies patient information regarding Medicaid, Medicare, sliding scale, workman’s compensation, and private insurance.
The PSR processes requests to other facilities for medical records and inputs records received in to the EMR.
They also receive appointment requests from outside offices and communicates appointment information to the referring office.
They will also participate in department activities related to quality improvement.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Answering incoming calls, greeting callers, providing information, transferring calls or taking messages as necessary.
Scheduling both self-referred patients and those referred by an outside office.
Perform administrative tasks, such as accepting orders, scheduling appointments or meeting rooms, scanning incoming medical records into the EMR, or sending and receiving faxes.
Processing internal referrals within the PPC.
Participate in quality improvement activities within the department.
