ASSISTANT OPERATIONS MANAGER Our team in Hobbs currently has an opening for a Assistant Operations Manager YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Summary: Responsible for the assistance in the overall operations at the site; including but not limited to, safety, compliance, blending, distribution, transportation, warehouse, asset management, efficiency, and personnel development.
Description: Set a high example of safety and ensure all facilities adhere to safety requirements.
Assist in monitoring all shipping functions to ensure they are done safely and in accordance with DOT regulations and Brenntag procedures.
Ensure all corporate policy and regulatory initiatives are applied.
Ensure all operators receive and maintain required training.
Assist the Facility Manager in maintain responsibility for company fleet including tractors, trailers, straight trucks and tankers and the overall daily functions.
Ensure accuracy of all required paperwork.
Complete all administrative duties, as assigned.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Hiring Qualifications and Competencies: A hands-on management approach that encourages change and creative problem-solving.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to critically think and problem solve Ability to interact effectively at all level in support of customer relationships.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment Ability to actively manage and grow a team.
Strong relationship building skills.
A commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Good understanding of DOT, EPA and OSHA regulations.
Supervisory Responsibility: Manage a team of 3-5 personnel.
Assist in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the facility.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
YOUR PROFILE Education and Experience: 4-year college degree, preferred (years of experience will be considered in lieu of education).
5 years of related job experience; high preference in operations within chemical and logistic industries Minimum 3 years of managerial role experience preferred.
