00 Annually Location ENMU - Roswell, NM Job Type Full time permanent Job Number 2023-00115 Department ENMU-Roswell Opening Date 06/06/2023 Position Overview DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Nursing Instructor position is a full-time faculty appointment (9 to 10-month contract) that serves under the direction of the Nursing Program Director.
This position is responsible for developing nursing curriculum and the classroom delivery of the materials contained in the curriculum; serves as a nursing faculty member in the clinical direct patient care areas with direct and indirect supervision of students regarding the application of nursing clinical skills and decision-making.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A FULL TIME NURSING INSTRUCTOR: Provide instruction for assigned Nursing classes and assist in the coordination of adjunct faculty teaching in Nursing, if applicable.
The normal teaching workload for regular full-time faculty consists of 15 semester workload hours, or its equivalent, per semester.
Develop syllabi in accordance with the ENMU-Roswell standardized course syllabus.
Supervise and direct students in the clinical environment.
The clinical environment may include: on-campus clinical rotations, simulations, or off-campus direct client care clinical rotations.
Maintain posted office hours of a minimum of ten hours per week.
Keep attendance records and follow appropriate procedures for reporting students' grades, which accurately reflect students’ demonstrated achievement and performance in the course according to the course syllabus.
Create a learning environment that motivates student engagement.
Develop and administer assignments, quizzes, and examinations that are comprehensive in nature and test the student against course objectives.
Provide academic advising to nursing students.
Participate in developing and revising curriculum to meet professional and educational standards.
Attend graduation ceremonies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Education.
Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in New Mexico in good standing or current unencumbered compact state license as a registered nurse (Must obtain New Mexico RN license within 90 days of employment).
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Must enroll in an accredited Master’s Nursing Degree program by the end of first academic year of employment).
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience as an RN in an acute care or long-term-care setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Administrative or supervisory experience.
Nursing education experience.
Previous experience with educational learning management systems.

Paid Time OffLeave accrual rates are determined by employee class (At-Will/Professional & Faculty - exempt or Support – non-exempt) and years of employment.

As per policies and procedures Adjuncts and Temporary employees are not eligible to accrue leave.
Faculty Paid Time Off Medical leave is accrued 48 hours in the Fall and 48 hours in the Spring.
Personal Leave - Five personal work days each academic year and two work days during the summer.
Only regular faculty will be eligible for personal leave.
Personal leave will not accumulate from academic year to academic year.
Support Paid Time Off During the first year of service, full time non-exempt (hourly) employees accrue 7 hours of annual leave and 7 hours of medical leave per month.
The second year of service, full time non-exempt employees accrue 10 hours of annual leave and 10 hours of medical leave per month.
The third and subsequent years of service, full time non-exempt employees accrue 14.
66 hours of annual leave and 14 hours of medical leave per month.
Employees must work for the University for three months before they are eligible to use annual leave.
Leave accruals will be pro-rated for part time employees.
